When the Korean War broke out in 1950, the 7th Infantry Division furnished troops to the 24th Infantry, 25th Infantry, and 1st Cavalry Divisions as those units. Dupont was a gifted seamstress and dressmaker. She was a native of Kyoto, Japan, and moved to the United States in 1957 after the Korean War.
